The Association of Medical Illustrators will gather in Richmond, Virginia, July 29-August 2, 2009, for their Annual Meeting and exhibition of medical illustration, animation, interactive media, and three-dimensional artwork.
The conference starts with a full day of workshops followed by the AMI Salon Opening reception, Wednesday, July 29, 2009 a once a year opportunity to visit the finest contemporary medical illustration exhibit in North America.
The AMI annual meeting is a gathering place to discuss traditional and cutting edge techniques in bioscience illustration and animation and to attend sessions spanning a rich variety of subjects including art and visualization, biomedical science, and business practices. This year's theme, Tradition and Transition, stresses the incorporation of the best from medical illustration of the past into the best for the future of the field.
The program is filling rapidly with challenging and exciting content and looks to offer something for everyone. A Call for Papers is open until November 15, 2008 for those interested in presenting during the event.
Richmond, Virginia is located in a region rich in history, cultural and family activities. From Revolutionary and Civil War history to high-tech medicine, the city and the region offer unique opportunities for education, exploration and fun.
